I’ve been throwing this idea around in my head for a while – having an event like a Blogging Carnival. There are a few different styles of Blog Carnival – but the Down Under Feminist Carnival is pretty straight forward so I thought I’d copy/adapt that one.
The idea is still in search of a good name, but the Carnival will be held in July at the same time as Australian Blak History Month and NAIDOC Week, and a few other significant events.
How this will work?
- Visit the spreadsheet, pick a date and complete your details for that date.
- Write a post (doesn’t have to be a text based post, it can be an image, sound, or video)
- During NAIDOC/Australian Blak History Month, Deadly Bloggers will add the link your post to our 2014 Blog Carnival post, and we will Facebook, Tweet, and G+ the link to your post.
About the topics
- Topics can be really broad but it would be great if they reflect something about NAIDOC and/or Australian Blak History Month.
- Yes, they can be controversial if you like. #bringIT
Job list for Deadly Bloggers
- Come up with a decent hashtag – #bloggingBLAK #BLAKblogs #DBCarnival #blak2014 #NAIDOCblogs. Ideas welcome.
- Create a button and a bit of imagery to make it all pretty.
If you can’t access the spreadsheet, Tweet me the day you would like and I’ll add you in.
