When you’re a new blogger it can hard to know about what you want to post about. It’s particularly tricky for personal bloggers who are keeping journals rather than bloggers who are focused on something narrow and specific like for instance feminism, criminal justice, anime, or art.
Having a series of topics already created topics will help you to frame your posts, especially in the early days. Once you’ve been going for a while, you won’t need our topics to get you going.
Why 52 weeks?
We find that the most effective bloggers are the ones who have a regular posting schedule. It’s easy to start a blog when you’re wide-eyed and enthusiastic. But after 4 weeks or 4 months, if you’ve built your blogging into your weekly routine you’re more likely to be posting a decade later.
If you’re not sure of what to write, remind yourself that you don’t have to just post ‘text’. There are lots of different types of posts including:
- lists
- video
- music
- image / image essay post
- reviews
Are you feeling a bit lonely? Not sure anyone is reading your posts?
One of the most useful ways to get new readers to your blog is to read and comment on other people’s posts. It’s old school, but it’s effective.
We’ll be sharing your posts as often as we can on the Deadly Bloggers Twitter and Facebook streams.
